Odell Beckham Trade Rumors: Giants 'Highly Unlikely' to Deal Star WR
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly drew trade interest from "several" NFL teams, but it's "highly unlikely" he will be moved before the 2018 season.
Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reported the news Friday and named the San Francisco 49ers as the one potential realistic landing spot after the Los Angeles Rams acquired Brandin Cooks from the New England Patriots on Wednesday.
Trade rumors began to intensify last month when Giants co-owner John Mara did not rule out a deal while speaking at the NFL owners' meetings in Orlando, Florida.

"I can't answer that one way or the other," Mara told reporters. "I mean we're certainly not shopping him, if that's what you're asking. But when you're coming off a season where you're 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn't say anyone's untouchable."
Meanwhile, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Beckham will "not set foot on a field without a new contract extension." The LSU product is set to enter the final year of his deal after the Giants exercised the fifth-year option in his rookie contract last April.
Beckham's apparent desire to get paid after he suffered a fractured left ankle in October may have given some interested teams pause. The 25-year-old is one of the league's most dangerous playmakers when healthy, though, recording at least 90 receptions, 1,300 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.
He is likely to command a lucrative contract—Vacchiano reported he is seeking $100 million—and it's tough to make that type of commitment without knowing if he's healthy.
So, while there are a lot of moving parts, it sounds like Beckham will remain with the Giants heading into next season.
