
14 People Killed in Bus Crash Involving Canadian Junior Hockey Team
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said 14 people died and 14 more were injured, including three critically, after a crash late Friday afternoon involving a truck and a bus transporting the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
The Associated Press (h/tย ESPN) reported the news Saturday and noted the Broncos were traveling to Nipawin in Saskatchewan, Canada, for a playoff game when the fatal collision occurred.
"This is much larger than anyone can begin to imagine," team president Kevinย Garingerย toldย CBC. "We are just in utter disbelief and shock at the loss that's fallen upon us."
