Conor McGregor was reportedly seeking retaliation for one of his Straight Blast Gym teammates when he attacked a bus after the UFC 223 press conference Thursday.

Per MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani, McGregor's response was the result of Khabib Nurmagomedov confronting Artem Lobov earlier this week.

The altercation between Nurmagomedov and Lobov occurred Tuesday at the fighter hotel when Nurmagomedov and members of his camp appeared to corner Lobov and slap him multiple times.

MMA Focus captured video of the incident (note: contains NSFW language):

TMZ Sports obtained video of the attack at the Barclays Center, which shows McGregor using a dolly to smash a side window on a bus that was carrying UFC fighters.

Helwani added that tensions have been "escalating" between both camps for some time and "there was fear if Lobov and Nurmagomedov saw each other that something might happen."

Nurmagomedov is scheduled to fight Max Holloway for the UFC lightweight championship in the main event of UFC 223 on Saturday.
