Get ready, Alabama fans. The next generation of Paul "Bear" Bryant is headed to Tuscaloosa. Kind of.

On Thursday, the legendary Alabama coach's great-grandson, Paul Tyson, committed to the Crimson Tide:

247Sports rates the Hewitt-Trussville High School (Trussville, Alabama) player as a 4-star recruit and the seventh-best pro-style quarterback in the class of 2019. As it stands, per 247 Sports, Nick Saban currently has the No. 7 overall recruiting class for next year.

Tyson threw for 3,392 yards, 36 touchdowns and four interceptions last season, scoring three additional touchdowns with his legs.

Bryant, of course, made a name for himself by creating the original Alabama dynasty. He went 232-46-9 in 25 seasons with the Crimson Tide from 1958-82. He won 13 SEC titles and six national championships in Tuscaloosa.

The 6'4", 217-pound Tyson will not be handed anything just because of his bloodline. Jalen Hurts (who will be a junior in 2018) and Tua Tagovailoa (sophomore) are currently in a quarterback battle after Tagovailoa relieved Hurts at halftime of the 2018 College Football Playoff championship game and rallied the team to victory.

Whether both Hurts and Tagovailoa stay at Alabama by the time Tyson steps on campus remains to be seen. Regardless, the high-profile recruit will have to prove to Saban that he gives the Crimson Tide the best chance to win.

Tyson and his family have always been beloved in Tuscaloosa, thanks to the Hall of Fame coach's success. Now, Bear Bryant's great-grandson will have a chance to create a legacy of his own at Alabama.
