Artem Lobov Pulled from UFC 223 for Role in Conor McGregor-Led Altercation
Artem Lobov has been pulled from the UFC 223 card Saturday for his role in an altercation at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday, per ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
Conor McGregor reportedly crashed media day and attacked a bus, which resulted in at least one fighter being injured:
A warrant for McGregor's arrest has been issued, according to Okamoto.
While the headlines will revolve around McGregor, Lobov was part of the crew that caused havoc at media day, per Okamoto. According to Chamatkar Sandhu of USA Today, McGregor was at the event to support Lobov, his teammate.
Lobov was also involved in a confrontation with Khabib Nurmagomedov at a hotel earlier this week:
Nurmagomedov would later call that incident "nothing" during a UFC 223 press conference (h/t MMA Weekly).
This weekend's fight against Alex Caceres provided Lobov an opportunity to try to end a two-match losing streak. The 5'9", 145-pound fighter has not won since defeating Teruto Ishihara at UFC Fight Night at Belfast in November 2016.
However, he will apparently now have to wait to get back into the Octagon. A week filled with outrageous incidents was too much for the UFC to stand behind.
