Report: TJ Dillashaw, Cody Garbrandt Rematch Booked for UFC 227

A rematch between TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt is reportedly on the way later this year.

According to ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto, the two fighters again will battle for the UFC bantamweight title at UFC 227 on Aug. 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The two fighters met last November at UFC 217, where Dillashaw (15-3) handed Garbrandt (11-1) his first loss. The fight ended with a second-round knockout.

Neither fighter has returned to the Octagon since that showdown.

While the UFC has yet to announce the rematch, Okamoto reported the bantamweight title fight is expected to be on the books soon. Garbrandt appeared to hint at it on Twitter:

The UFC has a press conference scheduled in Brooklyn on Friday ahead of Saturday's UFC 223. Okamoto noted earlier Wednesday that it wouldn't be a surprise for the UFC to pair Dillashaw's new contract with a fight announcement.
