"He said to me after the game, all fine, all good," manager Jurgen Klopp said to reporters after the match. "I hope that is the case."

Salah left the pitch with the Reds 3-0 up, having opened the scoring and provided an assist for Sadio Mane in the first half.

With local rivals Everton up next on Saturday in the Premier League before Tuesday's return leg against the Sky Blues, Liverpool will be sweating over the Egypt international's fitness.

The 25-year-old is a vital player to the Reds' success, as Squawka Football demonstrated:

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have also scored 39 goals between them this season, so Liverpool will hardly be without an attacking threat if Salah does miss out.

Nevertheless, he has already become a talismanic figure at Anfield since his arrival from AS Roma last summer, and Liverpool aren't at their best if he's not fit and firing.
