Hardy wasn't the only notable name who thrived as former Virginia Tech quarterback Bryan Randall threw five touchdowns.
As for Hardy, Wayne Epps Jr. of the Richmond Times-Dispatch called him a "nuisance for the Energy" because of his ability to consistently generate pressure.
Epps Jr. noted Hardy—who was arrested for possession of cocaine in 2016 and struck a plea deal—hasn't played in the NFL since he was a member of the Dallas Cowboys in 2015.
“Hardy had a tumultuous end to his time in the NFL,” Epps Jr. wrote. “He was arrested in the spring of 2014 on charges that he assaulted and threatened his then-girlfriend.”
Saturday was the first home game for the Roughriders since they won the championship last year.
