Six-Sational: TNA Slammiversary Preview

Ron JohnsonJun 5, 2008

For six years, TNA has been rising from the cellars to the mainstream. This Sunday, they celebrate that accomplishment by unleashing onto the world their prized possession.

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare for the IMPACT of Slammiversary.

Knockouts Grudge Match

ODB, Gail Kim, and Roxxi vs. The Beautiful People and Mickey Muscle

For half a year, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love have been doing their hardest to make the lives of other TNA Knockouts a living hell.

They took a step too far at Sacrifice when they caused Roxxi to have her head shaved after a ladder match, then added more gas to the fire by costing Gail Kim the TNA Knockouts Championship days later.

Now we get to this Sunday, and payback is on the minds of three of these Knockouts.

The BP have enlisted the services of a strong woman named Mickey to handle the heavy work while they sit on the apron and try their hardest not to look like a couple of groupies from Guns and Roses.

In any event, expect the hair and claws to be flying when these six vixens let it all hang out.

TNA X Division Championship

"Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams vs. Kaz

Ever since winning the X Division Championship in controversial fashion, Petey Williams has forced the rest of us to revel in it. But like his Obi Wan, Scott Steiner, this young cocky Skywalker could come up short against a determined Jedi.

Kaz has been on a roll for the last few months, and there's a possibility that the road that started with a good showing against Kurt Angle could end with a double shot of gold.

After winning the inaugural Terrordome match at Sacrifice, Kaz earned the right to face "Little Petey Pump" at Slammiversary.

In some matches, there always has to be a good guy and a bad guy. But in this match, it's a man who was been handed the contract and the gold on a battered platter taking on a man who had to claw his way to the top.

Barring any outside interference, take a wild guess who will win this contest.

TNA World Tag Team Championship

Team 3D vs. The Latin American Xchange

It's a rivalry reborn this Sunday when professional wrestling's most decorated tag team takes on one of the biggest up-and-comers in the sport.

After beating Team 3D at Sacrifice in the Deuces Wild Tag Team Finals, LAX has been on a roll.

With their Latina vixen Salinas and motivator Hector Guerrero by their side, they haven't been stopped. But the team from New York are acting like the Yankeesthey won't go away quietly.

Despite being left bloodied a few weeks ago, LAX has the advantage as the defending champions.

Brother Ray and Brother Devon better bring their A-Game because LAX has quickly learned the motto of the Guerrero Familylie, cheat, and steal.

Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles

It won't be a first blood match. It won't be a last man standing match. But it will be a bloodbathand there will be only one man standing after this match is done.

Ever since AJ "married" Karen Angle, the saga between the three individuals has gone from bizarre, to insane, to downright lethal.

The male Angle has been hell-bent on destroying Styles ever since he has decided to continue his relationship with Mrs. Angle.

After Kurt sent his wife away in tears and disgusted for his decisions, he wanted to fix the issue, but did a terrible job at apologizing.

After a physical match against Booker T, AJ Styles was assaulted by several TNA superstars before Kurt Angle came in and played home run derby on the already bloodied wrestler.

After months of dispair and insanity, it all comes to head this Sunday when the Olympic Champion and The Prince of Phenomenal collide with the ultimate prize of Karen Angle's heart hanging in the balance.

King of the Mountain Match for the TNA World Championship

Samoa Joe vs. Robert Roode vs. Booker T vs. Christian Cage vs. Rhyno

Since the beginning of Slammiversary, the King of the Mountain match has made superstars into legends. This Sunday, one man moves one step closer to immortality.

Since winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe has been determined to prove that he is a fighting champion. After outlasting both Angle and Scott Steiner at Sacrifice, he now has to outlast four men who want what he's got.

Two former World Champions (Cage and Rhyno), and two men who haven't gotten a shot at immortality before (Roode and Booker), will try to take out the Samoan Submission Machine and hope to begin their reign as the TNA World Champion.

Quick history fact: No TNA World Champion has ever entered the match and left the match as champion.

Samoa Joe intends to break that cycle on Sunday night. But to do that, he will have to withstand the onslaught of four dangerous individuals, a lot of ladders, and the special enforcer for the matchKevin Nash.

This Sunday, live from the DeSoto Civic Center in Southhaven, MS, it's the sixth annual Slammiversary on pay per view.
