Joel Embiid Posts Instagram Video from Hospital After Markelle Fultz Collision
After colliding with teammate Markelle Fultz during Wednesday's 118-101 win over the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid posted an Instagram video from a hospital bed.
As seen in the video (via Dime Magazine), Embiid wrote "Not good" as the caption:
Embiid did not return to the game, and he was diagnosed with a facial contusion, according to Kyle Neubeck of Philly Voice.
Neubeck added that Embiid cleared concussion protocol.
Embiid took Fultz's shoulder to his face, and Fultz later tweeted some positive thoughts in Embiid's direction:
The 24-year-old Embiid missed each of his first two NBA seasons due to injuries, and he was limited to just 31 contests in 2016-17.
Although the Sixers have been cautious with him this season, Embiid has appeared in 63 games, and he is producing at a dominant clip with 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest.
Behind Embiid, the Sixers will return to the playoffs this season for the first time since 2011-12.
They are fourth in the Eastern Conference at 44-30, and they will need a healthy Embiid in order to make a deep postseason run.
