Geno Smith Rumors: Ex-Jets, Giants QB Visiting Chargers in Free Agency
Former New York Jets and New York Giants quarterback Geno Smith is reportedly meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network provided word of the free-agent visit and noted Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn "has been a fan of Smith."
The 27-year-old West Virginia product, who's received more attention for his conversations about flat-Earth theory than his on-field performance in recent years, appeared in two games for the Giants last season.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Smith completed 58.3 percent of his throws for 212 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in those contests. He's started just two games since 2014.
He has tossed 29 TDs and 36 picks since the Jets selected him in the second round of the 2013 draft. He's added seven rushing scores.
Smith would be in line to battle Cardale Jones for the backup job behind Philip Rivers if he signs with the Chargers.
Los Angeles would be better off taking a quarterback in the middle rounds of the draft for that competition than signing a veteran with a lackluster 72.9 career passer rating.
