Devin Thomas to remain starter
Rick Maese reports on his Twitter that Jim Zorn has apparently said that WR Devin Thomas will remain starter opposite WR Santana Moss.
Oh really? I didn’t know we actually had a starter besides Moss. Thomas apparently started over Malcolm Kelly last week against Kansas City.
Could you tell?

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
To be truthful, I didn’t even know either were on the field. Not like the score box would tell you. Neither had a single reception against one of the weakest pass defenses in the NFL. In fact, through 6 games of the 2009 schedule, both 2008 second round receivers COMBINED have a whopping 11 receptions for a measly 100 yards. How pathetic is that? The production of these two amazes me.
Question for Jim Zorn. How is it possible you bench QB Jason Campbell in the second half because his ‘game was off’, but you’ve failed to bench either of these two pay check grabbers? Neither of these two have justified their presence in any starting lineup, not even in NCAA Division 1.
Neither of these two have had a single positive impact on the offense. In fact, I would even argue that the most manifest problem on this offense is the wide receivers. The offensive line did not play great last week. However, they certainly did not play poor enough that cost the Redskins the game. They most certainly played better then the Chief’s front line that gave up 5 sacks. Todd Collins came in at QB in the second half and I noticed he scanned the entire field more often than Campbell. Yet, Thomas and Kelly came out of the second half with ZERO receptions as well. That tells me — they simply weren’t open.
