The 29-year-old British star moved to 23-1 in his professional boxing career with the win. He captured the previously vacant WBC silver heavyweight title with a triumph over Robert Helenius by unanimous decision in October.

Browne carried a 25-0 record into Saturday's bout. Facing Whyte represented a step up in his level of competition, and the 38-year-old Aussie wasn't up to the challenge.
