Manchester United Transfer News: Red Devils Want Douglas Costa in Latest Rumours
Manchester United are interested in bringing Brazil winger Douglas Costa to Old Trafford in a £40 million summer deal.
The Red Devils believe they can land Costa and have "received sufficient encouragement" a deal can be done, per David McDonnell at the Mirror.
Costa is on loan at Juventus from Bayern Munich, and although the Serie A side have the option to sign him permanently, it is possible they may opt not to take that up.

The Brazilian has become an important player for Massimiliano Allegri's side, and his pace and dynamism have strengthened the club's attack.
Football writer David Amoyal said Costa's qualities are rare in Italy:
Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in November 2017 that Costa "will definitely be sold to Juventus in the summer for €46 million [£40 million]," per ESPN FC's Mark Lovell.
Manchester United have been rumoured to want to bring in a winger for some time. The Red Devils were interested in Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic last summer as they had doubts over Anthony Martial, per The Times (h/t Alex Wood at the Daily Star).
The Red Devils' attack has looked ponderous this season despite the presence of Martial, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku. Alexis Sanchez's addition has failed to have the required impact, with the Chile international having struggled to make an impact since joining from Arsenal in January.
United lack presence on the right flank, and too often their only width on that side of the pitch has come from full-back Antonio Valencia. Football writer Liam Canning said the club has to buy a winger:
Costa is versatile enough to play on either flank and has electric pace, which can terrify defenders. However, if United are interested, they might find it difficult to tempt him away from Juventus.
The Brazilian appears to have settled in well after a tough start, and it would be a surprise if Juve did not take up the purchase option—particularly as €46 million in today's market for a player of Costa's quality appears great value.
