Marcus Morris Buries Late 3-Pointer to Steal Win for Celtics vs. Thunder
Joseph ZuckerMar 20, 2018
With his team missing a number of key players, Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris stepped up to secure a 100-99 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night at TD Garden.
Morris hit a three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining that proved to be the difference in the game.
The Celtics were in position to win the game on their final possession after Thunder stars Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook combined to miss three of four free throws inside the final 17 seconds.
Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving and Marcus Smart all sat out the game because of injury.
With the defeat, the Thunder now sit 2.5 games back from the third-seeded Portland Trail Blazers, and their lead on the fifth-seeded New Orleans Pelicans shrunk to one game.
