Suh signed a six-year contract with the Miami Dolphins in March 2015. The 31-year-old recorded 15.5 sacks and 13 passes defensed in 48 games over the past three seasons.

The Dolphins released Suh on March 14, the first day of the new league year. He was scheduled to count $26.1 million against the salary cap in 2018, per Spotrac.

The Raiders have already invested in boosting their defensive line this offseason by re-signing defensive tackle Justin Ellis and signing defensive end Tank Carradine. They have $20.8 million in cap space for next season, per Over The Cap.

Oakland's defense finished tied for 24th in the NFL with 31 sacks last season, and the secondary allowed the second-highest opponent completion percentage to opposing quarterbacks (68.1).
