Indiana Pacers shooting guard Lance Stephenson said the shoes that lost a sole during Monday's 110-100 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse were throwbacks not made for NBA game action.

"I'm trying to get shoe champion of the year," he told reporters Tuesday.

Stephenson recovered from the initial decision-making error to tally 16 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 30 minutes of action against the Lakers.

The 27-year-old New York City native will likely go with a more conservative selection of kicks when the Pacers return for a road game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.
