Report: Luke Shaw May Complain to Manchester United Exec Amid Jose Mourinho Rift

Gianni VerschuerenMar 20, 2018

Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw is considering complaining to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward about manager Jose Mourinho's treatment of him, if the latest rumours are to be believed.

According to the Mirror's James Nursey, Shaw is also considering leaving the club, with Arsenal and Chelsea likely to be interested.

Per the report, the relationship between Shaw and Mourinho continues to deteriorate, according to sources within the club.

The tactician substituted Shaw at half-time in the FA Cup win over Brighton & Hove Albion and told reporters he did so because the defender had "failed to follow his tactical instructions," pushing Shaw to the edge. The 22-year-old also supposedly believes Mourinho is freezing him out of the team.

Shaw was once considered one of the sport's top talents at the left-back position, leading to a move to Old Trafford in 2014. A series of injuries halted his progress, however, and his fractured relationship with the United boss could lead him to the exit door.

Per Football on BT Sport, club legend Paul Scholes believes that's exactly what will happen:

It's unclear what Shaw would hope to accomplish by complaining to Woodward, an executive who does most of his work on the financial and transfer side of things.

Per the report, United are looking at Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham and Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur as potential replacements.
