Jaylen Brown Doubtful for Game 1 vs. 76ers with Hamstring Injury
Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown is listed as doubtful for the team's Game 1 matchup Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers because of a hamstring injury.
He went down in the Celtics' Game 7 win over the Milwaukee Bucks Saturday.
After averaging 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds as a rookie, the 21-year-old has seen a nice bump in numbers in an increased role, posting 14.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 2017-18. He averaged 17.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in the first-round series against Milwaukee.
Brown was the Celtics' second-leading scorer and was in a battle to be their second-leading rebounder.
Losing Gordon Hayward to a dislocated left ankle and fractured left tibia on opening night dealt a big blow to Boston's championship aspirations. Kyrie Irving's lingering knee injury has only added to the team's health concerns. Brown's injury was the last thing the Celtics needed.
If Brown is out for an extended period of time, that puts even more pressure on Al Horford and Co. to overcome the loss of another key player.
