"That was crazy. A crazy phone call," Young said, per ESPN.com's Jake Trotter. "[He told me] just how much he loved my game, how he enjoyed watching me play. He gave me a lot of encouragement, stuff like that."

Wednesday's phone call with Robertson came after Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James talked about Young's pro prospects. James effectively said it's a no-brainer for the Sooner to enter the 2018 draft and that the only NBA adjustments he'll need to make are "how much money he's gonna spend" and "how much he's gonna save," per Sam Gannon of KOKH Fox 25 in Oklahoma City:

Young leads Division I in scoring (29.1 points per game) and assists (9.3 per game). He's shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three-point range. He's also averaging 4.0 rebounds.

The hype surrounding him has gotten to the point where ESPN is keeping track of his stats for fans who aren't even watching Oklahoma games:

The fact Robertson reached out to Young and James offered such effusive praise illustrates how highly he's regarded.

If he were to declare for the 2018 draft, the Sooners freshman would be a lock for the top 10. In his most recent mock draft, Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman had Young going fourth overall to the Orlando Magic.
