UFC 104 Main Card: Five Fights Worth Watching
FINALLY!
The time has come fight fans!
So crack open a few beers and get ready for potentially one of the greatest UFC events to take place this year.
Expect to see many KO's and Submissions this Saturday night.
Main Event: UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun
The undefeated Machida is looking to defend his LHW Title for the first time. Luckily for him, its against a guy that has little to no chance of beating him. Expect to see a lot of stand-up in this fight, since both opponent are outstanding BJJ practioners.
The Pick: Machida by TKO
Ben Rothwell vs. Cain Velasquez
After being turned down a fight with the Engineer of Pain, Cain Velasquez may have dodged a bullet on this one. Velasquez is an excellent wrestler but he lacks one thing in the UFC's HW Division.
Velasquez is fairly light by HW standards so expect him to face trouble later on when as he fights more and more larger opponents. However, this fight should go in Cain Velasquez's favor, even though he is sure to leave the Octagon bruised and battered.
The pick: Cain Velasquez by unanimous decision.
Josh Neer vs. Gleison Tibau
This should be your classic Wrestling vs. BJJ match-up. Expect to see Josh Neer use his Muay Thai skill to try to defeat Gleison on his feet. However, this fight will eventually find its way to the canvas and Tibau will pull off another amazing submission.
Can you say Submission of The Night?
The pick: Gleison Tibau by submission.
Spencer Fisher vs. Joe Stevenson
This match-up definately has potential to earn Fight of The Night honors. Great matchmaking on Joe Silva's part.
Howerver expect to see Joe "Daddy" Stevenson remain the victor here.
The pick: Joe Stevenson by unanimous decision.
Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
You know, it amazes me how Anthony Johnson can even cut to 170. The guy is a beast at Welterweight. That being said, this fight is definitely going to earn KO of The Night.
Yoshida may be leaving via ambulance on this one.
The pick: Anthony Johnson by TKO
