Isaiah Thomas Comes off Bench, Hits 3-Pointer in Lakers Debut

Ryan McCrystalFeb 10, 2018

Despite Isaiah Thomas' agent texting ESPN's Rachel Nichols that he is "NOT COMING OFF THE BENCH," that's exactly what Thomas did in his Los Angeles Lakers debut on Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.

Thomas, who was acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, entered the game midway through the first quarter and promptly drilled a three to give the Lakers an early 24-21 lead.

During his brief time in Cleveland, Thomas started every game with the exception of his first one after returning from a hip injury which forced him to sit out until early January. Thomas hasn't regularly come off the bench since his first season with the Boston Celtics in 2014-15.
