Georgios Papagiannis Reportedly Released by Kings; Was 2016 1st-Round Draft Pick
Center Georgios Papagiannis has reportedly been released by the Sacramento Kings.
Per Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the Kings will waive Papagiannis, the No. 13 overall pick in the 2016 draft.
The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor previously reported Sacramento was most likely to move Papagiannis if it needed to create a roster spot.
The Kings acquired Joe Johnson and Iman Shumpert as part of a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Cleveland Cavaliers, who received George Hill from Sacramento, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Kings traded their No. 8 pick to the Phoenix Suns in 2016 to acquire Nos. 13 and 28, which they used on Papagiannis and Skal Labissiere, respectively. The former appeared in 38 games over the past two seasons, averaging 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
