NBA Honors Minneapolis Lakers and Buffalo Braves with Rising Stars Uniforms
The NBA has unveiled uniforms inspired by the Minneapolis Lakers and Buffalo Braves for this year's Rising Stars game.
Although the showcase of NBA rookies and sophomores will keep the U.S. vs. World format adopted in 2015, both sides will pay homage to their Staples Center hosts. Team USA will don baby blue uniforms that resemble the old Lakers look, and Team World will sport orange jerseys to celebrate the Braves team that later become the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Lakers-themed throwback is especially fitting since Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma will represent the U.S. squad. No Clippers, however, will play in the exhibition. Philadelphia 76ers stars Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Dario Saric headline Team World's roster.
The Rising Stars bout will start the All-Star festivities Friday, Feb. 16, at 9 p.m. ET.
