Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl LII halftime performance will reportedly honor a Minnesota legend in an unusual way.

According to TMZ, the intermission show will feature a hologram of Prince, who passed away in 2016. The outlet is basing this scoop on a Thursday rehearsal, which means the plan might not be finalized for Sunday night.

Eleven years ago, the music icon performed the Super Bowl halftime show at Dolphin Stadium. His famous set included a rendition of "Purple Rain" during a downpour. 

It's also unclear how this development will affect prop bets. Per OddsShark's Stephen Campbell, Timberlake was given 5-7 odds to perform a Prince cover. Does a hologram strutting a pixelated guitar next to the former NSYNC star count as a cover?
