Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum outscored the Chicago Bulls by himself in the first quarter of Wednesday's game at Moda Center.

He also made history in the process.

McCollum set a franchise record with 28 points in the opening frame, nine more than the Bulls scored through the first 12 minutes.

The 26-year-old was nearly unstoppable, shooting 11-of-14 from the field and draining four of five three-pointers in the first quarter alone.

He added only four points in the second quarter, but that didn't prevent Portland from taking a 67-44 lead into halftime.
