Steph Curry Drops Season-High 49, Leads Warriors over Kyrie Irving and Celtics
The top seeds in each conference went head-to-head Saturday night in a potential NBA Finals preview between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.
Six All-Stars took the court, but the game quickly turned into a duel between Kyrie Irving and Steph Curry.
Irving caught fire early, pushing the Celtics to a 37-27 lead after the first quarter. He finished the game with 37 points, going 5-of-6 from three-point range, but it wasn't enough to hold off Curry and the Warriors.
Not to be outdone by Irving, the Golden State point guard hit eight three-pointers of his own and dropped a season-high 49 points.
The Celtics took the Warriors to the wire, cutting the lead to just one point with under 10 seconds remaining, but ultimately Golden State was able to hang on for the 109-105 victory. Boston has now lost five of its last six games.
