Tom Brady Kept NFL's 2016 Deflategate Suspension Letter
January 25, 2018Tom Brady does not forget.
As the New England Patriots prepare for their second straight Super Bowl appearance, Facebook has released the opening installment of Brady's docuseries Tom vs Time.
Minutes into the episode, the quarterback digs through a binder to reveal his suspension letter from the NFL for his role in the Deflategate scandal. Although originally barred for four games in 2015, the quarterback did not serve the ban until the beginning of 2016.
"Just a nice way to remember," Brady quips before looking into the camera. "Thank you."Â Â
Perhaps he has used the punishment as motivational fuel. The Patriots are 29-4 with two AFC titles since Brady returned from the suspension. They can become the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions since they accomplished the feat in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, beating the Carolina Panthers and their Super Bowl LII opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles, respectively. Â
