Super Bowl Halftime Show 2018: Justin Timberlake Performance Odds, Likely Songs

Tim DanielsFeb 3, 2018

Justin Timberlake will take the halftime stage during Super Bowl LII between AFC champions New England Patriots and NFC champions Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. It will be his third appearance on one of music's grandest stages after taking part in the halftime show in 2001 and 2004.

His selection comes 14 years after he was involved in a performance with Janet Jackson that featured the infamous "wardrobe malfunction." Now the incident is one of the most intriguing prop bets concerning Timberlake's performance at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Let's check out the oddsmakers' lines for his first song choice and some of the other most notable picks available for the NFL's biggest event.

Other Notable Prop Bets

Janet Jackson Appearance: Yes (+400) or No (-600)

It's hard to imagine Jackson showing up as an unannounced part of the halftime show. If she was going to perform alongside Timberlake as some sort of high-profile redemption for 14 years ago, the NFL would seemingly make that known as a way to drive interest.

Although JT said last month on Beats 1 Radio he'd made peace with Jackson since the incident, he added there "wasn't too much of a conversation" about working with her again this time around when setting up his return to the Super Bowl, per Lisa Respers France of CNN.

So, while nostalgia is all the rage these days, don't expect a reunion here.

Wardrobe Malfunction: Yes (+1500) or No (-4000)

While it wouldn't be a shock to see Timberlake work a not-so-subtle moment into his routine harking back to the wardrobe malfunction, nothing similar is going to happen this time. The NFL will surely be going to great lengths to ensure that's the case.

In addition, the tape-delay broadcast would ensure anything crazy that did happen wouldn't be broadcast to the tens of millions of people watching the game this time around.

NSYNC Member Appearance: Yes (+200) or No (-300)

Either the members of NSYNC are playing things close to their chests or this looks like a pretty safe no bet.

Joey Fatone told TMZ Sports the guys wouldn't be getting back together with Timberlake after initially suggesting it was possible.

"I'm here right now," he said in late January. "If I was doing something, I'd be at rehearsals right now ... there's your proof."

It could be an effort to lead fans off the scent, but this is Timberlake's chance to create a new Super Bowl legacy. He might go solo to ensure everything goes off without a hitch.
