Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Mesut Ozil and Carlos Soler
Manchester United want to capture Mesut Ozil in the summer after completing the signing of his former Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez.
Miguel Delaney of The Independent reported Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho still wants to tempt the Germany international when his contract runs out at the end of the season, with the player reportedly seeking over £300,000 per week in wages.
United wish to strengthen midfield after bolstering their attack with Sanchez, and they have a number of targets including Valencia's Carlos Soler and Nice's Jean Michael Seri.

Per Delaney, Mourinho is planning for life without veteran midfielder Michael Carrick, who is set to retire, and the Old Trafford giants are "confident" they can bring Soler to the Premier League.
Ozil's potential departure would represent another bitter blow for Arsenal, and he could follow Sanchez to the Theatre of Dreams if a deal can be thrashed out.

According to the Manchester Evening News (h/t Jack Otway of the Daily Express), United have already held talks with Ozil during their recent dealings with Sanchez.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has declared he wants to pair Ozil with former United ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium as Sanchez's replacement in a swap deal.
Per The Independent's Jack Austin, Wenger said: "I believe we lose a world-class player and gain a world-class player. They [Ozil and Mkhitaryan] can play together. How efficient will that work? It will be down to the qualities of both players."
Ozil's form has progressively improved this term, and football.london's Charles Watts recently lauded the midfield genius:
Soler would be an astute addition, with the 21-year-old displaying similar strengths to Carrick.
The Spaniard is comfortable across the whole of the midfield and can enhance possession with his ability to retain the ball.
Valencia have risen to prominence once again in La Liga with Soler in the side, riding high in third above Real Madrid.
Soler has featured in 15 games in La Liga this season, providing four assists for his team-mates from the centre.
Here is Soler in action:
Ozil and Soler would be perfectly suited for United's deeper needs in the squad, and their capture would allow Sanchez to play a role further up the field.
Carrick's recent absences have seen Paul Pogba sit deeper next to Nemanja Matic, forcing Mourinho to find solutions for his top creative players.
Despite the aforementioned wage demand, Ozil would be a steal as a free agent, leaving United the simple task of finding a fee to sign Soler.
Mourinho's player balance is slowly improving, but it might not be until next term that we see the full potential of the Red Devils.
