Philadelphia Greases Light Poles Ahead of NFC Championship Game vs. Vikings

Zac WassinkJan 21, 2018

The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Minnesota Vikings in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

The City of Brotherly Love is preparing for a celebration just in case.

Per Fox 9 in Minnesota, crews took to Philadelphia streets Sunday morning to grease light poles in an attempt to prevent jubilant fans from climbing them if the Eagles earn a trip to Super Bowl LII.

Philadelphia's last Super Bowl appearance came in February 2005 when the Eagles fell to the New England Patriots 24-21 in Super Bowl XXXIX.

The Patriots will host the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC title game, so a repeat of that contest is possible.

The "Crisco Cops," as they've dubbed themselves, may need more grease if the Eagles win the first Super Bowl in franchise history.
