Mike Bobo Accountable With Two Weeks to Prepare For Florida Gators

Peter barkmanOct 20, 2009

Coach Mark Richt told the media a few weeks back that he respected the fact offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, took accountability for the performance of the offense versus the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and despite fingers pointing in every direction after a dissappointing opening season loss to those Cowboys.  A mature leader and a coach that puts accountability on his shoulders, is a coach that will improve, and will get the job done.  This is the hope as the Dawgs prepare for the Gators in two weeks.

Mike Bobo has a great opportunity during the next two weeks.  Bobo is trusted by Coach Richt for reasons known and unknown, as Bobo has had some critics calling for his head in a worst case scenario, and some just throwing their hands up in the air upon a offense with such potential obvious inability to run the ball, or an offensive play call that simply does not make since for the situation in that particular game.

The opportunity is clear, two weeks to prepare for the hated Gators!  The same Florida Gators who have beat the snot out of the best Georgia Bulldog teams over the past two decades regardless of talent, play call, or team on the field.

The key this week is as follows:  The Dogs have two weeks to prepare, and at this time of the year, the two weeks to rest, to prepare is very vital and must be taken advantage of, regardless of the fact that we are playing our nemesis, the hated Gators, and the golden boy, Tim Tebow, and his personal march to his record tying second Heisman Trophy, and equally impressive third National Title in four years!

Mike Bobo is accountable despite the odds, and despite the fact we will be close to a three touchdown underdog.  The good news is that the Gators actually looked less than god like in a close call vs. the Arkansas Razorbacks.  The same Razorbacks these Georgia Dawgs beat on the road.

The Gator defense is a top ten defense in the country, the dawgs have yet to find any kind of momentum on offense, yet on defense some things may be coming together.  The key is Mike Bobo is accountable, and Mark Richt trusted Bobo to hire him, and to stand by him.  This is not due to friendship, although I am sure the two coaches are friends, but due to the fact Mark Richt believes Mike Bobo is the MAN for the  job.

Coach Bobo is blessed with such a great opportunity, and I am confident the bye week will help, but in the end any time a Dawg team has downed Tebow the Goliath of college football or his alma mater it has been a TEAM effort.

From Robert Edwards running wild in 1997, to DJ Shockley beating the underachieving non Urban Meyer led Gators in 2005, to the Dawgs that rushed the field in 2007, the key is TEAM.  One man stepped up, Mike Bobo, and advised he is the ONE accountable for the offense, regardless of the team showing up, or not in Jacksonville.

The thing with accountability is the Bulldog Nation will know where to look after the game, win or lose.  Mike Bobo will be mentioned, and will be standing in the back for the praise or standing at the front of the line for the persecution, and that is why Mike Bobo is a leader, and a member of the Bulldog Family.
