Zac WassinkJan 8, 2018

Alabama Crimson Tide true freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa replaced Jalen Hurts in the second half of Monday's CFP National Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

That decision will be celebrated by Alabama fans for decades to come.

After Georgia placekicker Rodrigo Blankenship made a 51-yard field goal in the first possession of overtime to give the Bulldogs a 23-20 lead, Tagovailoa took a sack for a 16-yard loss on his first play of the extra period.

He responded by delivering a pinpoint pass to wide receiver DeVonta Smith for a 41-yard walk-off touchdown to win the national title for the Crimson Tide.

Tagovailoa is an instant Alabama legend on the same night fans around the country learned his name for the first time.
