Booking Finn Balor's Road to WrestleMania 34 with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows

Some might say Finn Balor's reunion with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows on Raw was just too sweet, but it could prove to be much more than a one-off as the Road to WrestleMania gets underway.

Immediately after announcing his entry in the 2018 Royal Rumble match Monday, Balor revealed Anderson and Gallows would be his partners for a six-man tag team match against Elias and The Miztourage later that night.

WWE has been hesitant in the past to pair Balor up with his former stablemates from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, so the move was a pleasant surprise for fans. The reformed alliance paid off, as they made short work of their opponents, and all three men looked happier than they have in some time.

Considering both Balor and the tandem of Anderson and Gallows have been directionless for the better part of the past year, it remains a mystery why they weren't put together sooner. Nevertheless, it's better late than never, as all three of them have found new life, as fellow B/R columnist Ryan Dilbert recently discussed.

There is no telling whether this will be a permanent faction moving forward, but Balor, Gallows and Anderson would undoubtedly benefit from it. Additionally, Raw lost a major faction in The Shield when injury sidelined Dean Ambrose in December, and the Balor Club could fill that void nicely.

There are plenty of directions in which WWE could take these three, and with WrestleMania 34 around the corner, the timing couldn't have been better for them to join forces again.

Balor may not exactly be a threat to win the 2018 Royal Rumble match, but he without a doubt belongs in the main event scene—competing against elite talent, not Bo Dallas and Curt Hawkins.

After all, he never received his rightful rematch for the Universal Championship. A rumored bout with titleholder Brock Lesnar has been scrapped, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc).

That said, Anderson and Gallows could be his meal ticket to the top and could help him re-establish himself as a hot commodity on Monday nights. It worked wonders for AJ Styles in 2016, and Balor could have similar success with them by his side as well.

Although battling The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania for the universal title would make for exceptional storytelling, it appears to be an unlikely scenario. That spot has seemingly been reserved for Roman Reigns for months, and WWE likely won't deviate from those plans.

However, he can still be featured in a pretty prominent match for the Intercontinental Championship, in which Reigns has instilled more prestige by being a fighting champion. Reigns is bound to drop the strap sooner rather than later, and it could well end back up in The Miz's possession.

Miz vs. Balor is a fresh feud that would be made even more compelling with the involvement of Gallows and Anderson. They would ensure The Miztourage doesn't cost Balor the title, playing off Balor's recent run-ins with Dallas and Curtis Axel.

Moreover, perhaps a heel turn could be in Balor's future. Gallows and Anderson could convince the former NXT champion sometime soon to go rogue given being a fan favorite has gotten him nowhere.

Either way, Balor's journey to WrestleMania 34 will be infinitely more intriguing with Gallows and Anderson in his corner. Beyond The Show of Shows, they could be on a collision course with AJ Styles, whom all three men have history with.

The Balor Club has officially arrived on Raw, and it's merely a matter of time before it starts taking over en route to WrestleMania.
