Kentucky RB Benny Snell Ejected for Contact with Official in Controversial Call

Kentucky Wildcats running back Benny Snell Jr. was controversially ejected for making contact with an official on Friday. 

In the second quarter of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl between Kentucky and Northwestern, Snell gathered himself after a play, and it seemed as if the official extended his arm to help him to his feet.

When the running back grabbed the referee, he drew an infraction for contact with an official. Though it seems Snell was frustrated that Northwestern players had hit him after the whistle, the ejection was excessive.

Snell left the game with six carries for 15 yards and a touchdown. Northwestern leads Kentucky 17-7 at halftime.
