Purdue Executes Fake Kneel-Down vs. Arizona in Foster Farms Bowl
Ryan McCrystalDec 27, 2017
One of the most exciting parts of college football's bowl season is watching coaches empty the playbook, which is exactly what Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm did near the end of the first half in the Foster Farms Bowl.
With under one minute remaining in the second quarter, the Boilermakers lined up to take a knee. But instead of going down to the turf, quarterback Elijah Sindelar handed the ball off to diminutive running back D.J. Knox.
With the unsuspecting Arizona defense caught off guard, the 5'7" Knox took off down the sideline for a 30-yard gain.
Thanks to the trick play, Purdue was able to close out the first half with a field goal and took a 31-14 lead into the locker room.
