Toneil Carter, Lil'Jordan Humphrey Among Players Suspended for Texas' Bowl Game
The University of Texas suspended running back Toneil Carter, wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey and tight end Garrett Gray for the Longhorns' clash with Missouri in the Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston next week.
College football reporter Brett McMurphy noted all three players won't face the Tigers because of a violation of team rules.
Carter and Humphrey are both notable losses for the UT offense.
The freshman running back had 53 carries for 252 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season as part of the team's backfield quartet. He added six catches for 31 yards and a score.
Meanwhile, the sophomore wideout ranked second on the Longhorns in both receptions (37) and receiving yards (431) to go along with one TD.
Gray, a junior, had less of an impact with four catches for 18 yards.
The trio will join offensive tackle Connor Williams, who announced he won't play in the bowl game after declaring for the 2018 NFL draft, as key losses for the unit against Mizzou.
OddsShark pointed out the Tigers, who opened as a one-point favorite, are now listed at -2.5.
