AEG Sold $824,000 Worth of Merchandise on Kobe Bryant Jersey Retirement Day

The Los Angeles Lakers retired Kobe Bryant's No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys during a halftime ceremony at Monday's game against the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center. 

AEG, the owner of that arena, cashed in on the occasion. 

Per ESPN.com's Darren Rovell, AEG sold a reported $824,000 worth of merchandise, such as customized jerseys and hats, at four different venues Monday. Staples Center had $616,000 in sales.

While the value is obviously massive, one cannot help but notice the irony that the numbers "8" and "24" were involved. 

Even merch sales relating to Bryant have Mamba Mentality.
