Place-kicker K-Lani Nava enjoyed a historic Wednesday evening en route to helping the Strawn Greyhounds win a championship.
As Ryan Cox of the Star-Telegram explained, Nava became the first woman to play and score in a Texas state title game during Wednesday's Class 1A Six-Man Division II Championship between Strawn and Balmorhea at AT&T Stadium.
Nava hit nine of 10 extra points, worth two points apiece in six-man football, and Strawn cruised to a 78–42 win.
"It's amazing," the senior kicker said after the game, according to Cox. "It's the best way to end my career, my senior year, everything...it's the best feeling ever."
