Redskins Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan Eyeing an 8-8 Finish

Despite defeating the Arizona Cardinals 20-15 at FedEx Field on Sunday, the 6-8 Washington Redskins are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. 

Washington linebacker Ryan Kerrigan nevertheless has a clear goal in mind heading into the final two weeks of the season. 

"We're just trying to finish out the season strong because we know 8-8 looks a lot better than whatever other record we could have," Kerrigan told reporters on Monday, per Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press. 

The Redskins host the 5-9 Denver Broncos on Christmas Eve, and they end the campaign at the 2-12 New York Giants on Dec. 31.
