Patriots Secure Week 15 Win over Steelers with Interception in End Zone
The Pittsburgh Steelers took a chance. In this case, fortune did not favor the bold.
Down 27-24 with seconds remaining in Sunday's Week 15 game against the New England Patriots at Heinz Field, Ben Roethlisberger faked a spike on 3rd-and-goal instead of settling for a game-tying field-goal attempt.
Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, the Patriots were prepared. Safety Duron Harmon ended any comeback hopes by intercepting a tipped pass intended for wide receiver Eli Rogers.
Although it wasn't their most notable goal-line pick, the Patriots reclaimed the AFC's No. 1 seed after Sunday's victory. They can lock down home-field advantage in the playoffs by defeating the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets at Gillette Stadium during the 2017 season's final two weeks.
