Manchester City Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Alexis Sanchez and Philipp Max
Alexis Sanchez has reportedly turned down a huge offer from Chinese club Hebei China Fortune in order to secure a move to Manchester City, while Pep Guardiola's side are said to have scouted Augsburg left-back Philipp Max.
The Arsenal star was offered a deal worth £400,000 per week to move to the Chinese Super League side, but he is determined to sign for Manchester City, according to The Sun's Mike McGrath.
A move to the Etihad Stadium is more likely in the summer than this winter, but Guardiola still wants the Chilean to "freshen his attack."

Sanchez came close to a move last summer, only to see a deal fall through as Arsenal failed to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
Guardiola was asked about a move for Sanchez ahead of Saturday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur but was reluctant to answer as shown by Goal's Sam Lee:
The former Barcelona man, who played for Guardiola at the Camp Nou in 2011-12, has not been at his best this season with a record of just four goals and three assists in 15 Premier League appearances.
Sanchez has been guilty of giving the ball away in recent games and was also below par in the win over Newcastle United on Saturday, per Press Association Sport's Mark Mann-Bryans:
The soon-to-be 29-year-old (his birthday is on Tuesday) does appear to have been affected by the uncertainty over his future, and his failure to renew his contract with the Gunners suggests he will leave the club.
However, it still remains to be seen whether Arsenal will agree to sell Sanchez in January or keep him until the summer, when he will be a free agent.
While City do not lack for attacking options, the opportunity to sign a proven Premier League goalscorer and a player Guardiola knows well may be too good to turn down.
The Premier League leaders are also keen on Max and sent scouts to watch him during Saturday's 3-3 Bundesliga draw with Freiburg, per Simon Jones for the Sunday Mail.
Guardiola is keen to bring in a replacement for injured left-back Benjamin Mendy, but Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have also watched Max recently.
The 24-year-old has been in superb form this season, as shown by Opta:
He may also have impressed any scouts watching on Saturday as he recorded another assist:
Guardiola has taken to using midfielder Fabian Delph at left-back this season, although the Englishman has impressed, per WhoScored.com:
However, if there is a weakness in the City side, it is in defence and the club may well be looking to strengthen in January.
