Booking Breezango's Next Case After Loss vs. Bludgeon Brothers

Mike ChiariDec 17, 2017

The long-awaited clash between The Bludgeon Brothers and Breezango finally came to a head Sunday at Clash of Champions with Harper and Rowan disposing of Tyler Breeze and Fandango in Boston.

The Bludgeon Brothers made quick work of their opponents. They dumped Breeze onto the ring apron and delivered a powerbomb to Fandango, which set up their tag team finisher on Fandango for the win.

The Bludgeon Brothers had seemingly tortured and taunted Breezango for months, leading to Breeze and Fandango accepting a match against them at the behest of The Ascension.

After getting physically dominated by Harper and Rowan, however, there is little reason for Breezango to continue the feud.

Moving on would be in the group's best interests, and the manner in which the duo is presented on SmackDown Live makes it easy to immediately move into a new storyline.

While Breezango has had various matches and mini-feuds over the past several months, the main way it was able to stay relevant was the success and popularity of Fashion Files, which requires the duo to do a skit for a few minutes every week rather than getting involved in the ring.

Since SmackDown Live's tag team division is stacked with a ton of talent, it is possible to have several feuds ongoing at the same time.

Regarding the teams involved in the Fatal 4-Way match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, it would make sense for The Usos to continue a rivalry with Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin.

Also, New Day would be great opponents for The Bludgeon Brothers due to the contrast in styles and the fact that New Day having an extra man could help somewhat neutralize Harper and Rowan's advantage in physicality.

That would leave a few teams without a dancing partner, most notably Rusev Day, which consists of Rusev and Aiden English.

It is difficult to say how long Rusev and English will stay together, but since there isn't much going on for either of them as singles competitors, keeping them as a team for the foreseeable future makes sense.

Few could have expected how well they would work as a unit, but Rusev and English are a fun comedic act that would almost certainly mesh with Breezango.

The crux of the feud with The Bludgeon Brothers was the fact that an unknown team wrecked Breezango's office, attack the team and destroyed Fandango's beloved horse, Tully.

Due to the chemistry Breezango has with The Ascension, the new mystery could be the kidnapping of Konnor and Viktor. Since Breeze and Fandango act like they don't care about The Ascension, their indifference toward finding them would make for some hilarious moments.

Also, since Breezango seems to have so much creative license in Fashion Files, there would be creative ways to keep Konnor and Viktor in the skits through flashbacks or spirits.

Making Rusev Day the mastermind behind the kidnapping would give three entertaining teams something to do for several weeks, and it wouldn't require a great deal of television time to tell the story.

The Bludgeon Brothers are clearly destined for title contention in the tag team division, but Breeze and Fandango are still a big part of the equation, and there is more than enough talent to go around in SmackDown's tag ranks.
