Nix Shows Off Fallen Teammate's Number After Opening Hit in Sunday Night Game
Any time the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens do battle, it's a huge game. The two rivals have regularly ruled the AFC North, and their twice-a-year regular-season games often have a major impact on the season-long outcome.
But on Sunday night, the Steelers were thinking about more than just winning their Week 14 clash. They were thinking of their teammate, Ryan Shazier, who suffered a spinal injury during Monday night's game against Cincinnati and had surgery Wednesday.
Special teams stalwart Roosevelt Nix showed his support for Shazier after making a tackle on the game's opening kickoff. He pulled up his jersey to reveal a T-shirt emblazoned with the number 50, which is Shazier's number.
Shazier is the Steelers' defensive leader, and many Steelers showed their support Sunday with custom "50" art on their shoes.
