B/R Highlights Memorable Celebrations from NFL's Week 13 Sunday Games

Andrew GouldJun 16, 2018

When the NFL relaxed its celebration rules this season, it maintained its ban on dunking a football over the crossbar.

Apparently, its objection is not inย repurposing the uprights as a makeshift basketball hoop. After scoring his eighth touchdown of the season, Leonard Fournette and his Jacksonville Jaguars teammates pretended to line up for a free-throw attempt. He shot the pigskin through the post before Josh Lambo netted an official extra point.

Fournette was not flagged. Dunking is still a no-no, but free throws appear to be permissible.

Maybe the NFL prefers fundamental basketball.
