Wentz Makes Desperation Throw Under Near-Impossible Circumstances
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and Seattle Seahawks signal-caller Russell Wilson went toe-to-toe Sunday night in a battle of MVP candidates.
With the Eagles trailing 17-3 early in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks forced Wentz out of the pocket. He scrambled to his right and unleashed a rainbow as Seattle defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson dragged him down to the ground.
The desperation heave somehow got over the top of the defense and landed in the arms of wideout Nelson Agholor at the Seattle 45-yard line. The 51-yard completion gave the Eagles new life, as Wentz tossed a 27-yard touchdown to Agholor four plays later that cut the Seahawks' lead to 17-10.
