Kristaps Porzingis Was Puzzled When Kevin Durant Nicknamed Him 'The Unicorn'

New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis has embraced his mythical nickname, "The Unicorn," but it apparently left him a little bewildered at first. 

On Thursday, the big man spoke about the label given to him by 2017 NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

"At first, I was a little confused," Porzingis explained, which elicited laughs from Fallon and the audience. 

"It's like, 'What is it? A horse with a ponytail? What does it mean?'" 

In time, however, Porzingis understood his fellow player was praising his skills. 

"But then they kind of explained it to me. What he tried to say is that I’m a unique player. So, it was nice to hear him say good things about me." 

Perhaps he would prefer being known as "The Lizard."
