The Philadelphia 76ers made a young fan their Sixers Strong Kid of the Game on Monday, creating a memorable evening during which he met the players and received a customized jersey.

The NBA's official Twitter account posted a slow-motion video of the jubilant boy meeting Joel Embiid (seen above).

A Twitter account run by his parents thanked the center and the team:

Per the account's bio, Shane is an eight-year-old who survived a pediatric stroke and has cerebral palsy. It also says: "His love for Philadelphia 76ers is strong enough to take his pain away."

Shane also met Ben Simmons and received the customized jersey from him.

Embiid, Simmons and Co. gave the devout 76ers fan a special night. Like the league's hashtag says, that's why they play.
