Some Advice For Sam Bradford

kane simmonsOct 18, 2009

I don't write about college football, so needless to say I am probably out of my element. But I felt it necessary to write about Sam Bradford and his injury, because I know what his is going through, to a certain extent.

In my junior year of high school landed on my right shoulder making a tackle, and immediately felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. When I went to the doctor to get an X-Ray I found out that I had a sprained AC joint in my right shoulder.

I missed four games and my shoulder hurt until a month after football season. It would hurt when I slept on it wrong, and when I would throw a baseball for a length of time. I didn't have the medical resources that Sam Bradford has at his disposal. My rehab was ibuprofen, ice, Icy hot, and extra padding.

So, my advice for the Oklahoma Sooners is to sit Bradford down for the rest of the season. Oklahoma will not be in contention for the Big 12 championship or any major bowl.

So Sam Bradford will have two options, enter the draft and show the scouts that his shoulder is healthy and get drafted in the middle of the first round and risk losing millions of dollars by not being a top five or ten pick.

Or Bradford could do what he did last year and go back to Oklahoma for his Senior year and risk another injury and receive the stigma of being injury prone and dropping his stock even further in the 2011 draft.

My advice for Sam Bradford is to enter the draft this year and perhaps fall to the middle of the first round and sit on the bench of whatever NFL team drafts him. Because in my Senior year of high school I sprained my AC joint again, except in my other shoulder.
