Welcome to adulthood, Malik Monk.

In an interview on CBS Sports' Flagrant Two podcast, Reid Forgrave asked the Charlotte Hornets rookie about the most surprising facet of his new NBA life.

The 19-year-old discussed the down time in between games, but he was not complaining about the unexpected monotony of living on the road.

"It's boring. Boring is good, though. You fly here, you get to the hotel, don't do nothing until game time. I'm in my hotel room watching highlights, watching movies, stuff like that. It's just boring. But in the summertime it's fun because you get to do other stuff and you got a little bit of money, you can vacation, go to places. In season is boring, but that's good, so you won't be out getting in trouble, club life, stuff like that."

Most adults can relate. Work can get tedious, but the dullness Monk described reflects his dedication to his new job. Other newcomers may seek out the trouble he has avoided early in his career.

Perhaps the unexciting routine is starting to pay dividends. After going a combined 4-of-22 for 13 points in his first three games, Monk finished 7-of-14 for 17 points on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets.
